Anti-hunters attempted to stop lion hunting with PROP 127 (formerly initiative 91)
Anti-hunters added proposition 127 to the Colorado 2024 November ballot. Lions and other cats are currently prospering in Colorado under the science-based Colorado Parks and Wildlife management stemming from the North American Model of game management. The anti-hunters spread half-truths to try to convince people their non-science-based approach of no hunting is better than the science-based programs that have created the environment for lions and other animals to prosper. To stop lion hunting has potential to throw off the balance of Colorado's animal populations like prey species numbers of deer and elk. COLORADANS FOR RESPONSIBLE WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT lead the fight to keep lions and all animals managed by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and not the ballot box.
